JOB Description: 
ESMA is organising a selection procedure for the post of Team Leader of the Communications team within the Governance and External Affairs (GEA) Department to staff a vacant position and to constitute a reserve list of suitable candidates. The Governance and External Affairs (GEA) Department is covering a range of transversal activities across ESMA and is organised across 3 teams. The Governance and Strategy team, the International and Institutional Relations team and the Communications team. The Communications team is in charge of setting the overall communication strategy and implementing it effectively, including through active support for Senior Management. It is responsible for handling external communication including preparation of key messages, media relations, advising and preparing for external speaking events, and management of internal and external communication channels including intranet, website and social media. Reporting to the GEA Head of Department, the successful candidates will be responsible for the following tasks: • Provide vision, direction and leadership for ESMA external and internal communication strategy, including objective and strategy setting, definition of target group; • Support the ESMA Senior Management and Heads of Department to achieve ESMA priorities and strategy; • Plan and organise the efficient allocation of the work between the team members; • Motivate and support the team members in attaining the team’s objectives; • Managing leaves and contributing to performance appraisal of the team in line with the relevant policies and delegation; and • Ensure sound financial management of the budget allocated and proper forecasting of resources Specific areas related to the job: • Drive the development of all public-facing materials and ensure adequate quality control, including production of press material; identify opportunities for media coverage and oversee the coordination of media interviews; • Drive the sourcing, drafting, upload of content and maintenance of ESMA’s public media tools; • Guide, source and implement social media communications and positioning; • Manage the public relations and communications aspects of ESMA events; • Coordinate the production and dissemination of internal and external documents and reports • Pro-active interaction with other teams within ESMA, the relevant staff from Commission and National Competent Authorities, as necessary and • Handle any other task assigned by the Senior Management and/or Head of Department
