JOB Description: 
You will join a highly skilled and motivated team of experts. As a Certification Expert or PCM in the field of Powerplant or Propulsion products respectively you will contribute to aeronautical products safety by providing essential expertise to influence and permit decisions in initial airworthiness certification and continuing airworthiness. You will manage and perform core technical and administrative processes of certification projects of aeronautical products, to ensure compliance with applicable certification specifications. In addition, you will support other core technical activities of the Agency. Common accountabilities as Powerplant Expert / PCM – Propulsion will be to: ◼ Manage and contribute to approval of changes to type certificates, repairs, and Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) ◼ Develop and contribute to the definition of interpretation material or new airworthiness requirements, to cover new product technologies, unconventional uses, and proposals for novel compliance demonstration ◼ Provide inputs and support to Design Organisation Approval activities, and support across EASA Directorates as necessary ◼ Develop and deliver training on certification and airworthiness processes; coach and mentor less experienced professionals ◼ Support the harmonisation of differing opinions on certification or airworthiness processes at department level in the scope of expertise ◼ Represent the Agency externally when mandated to do so Specific accountabilities as a PCM - Propulsion: ◼ Manage and coordinate complex certification projects and EASA teams for the determination of the applicable certification basis, the definition of the level of involvement by selecting compliance demonstration items and the agreement of applicants’ certification programmes ◼ Provide propulsion products expertise to verify the compliance demonstrations as shown by applicants, and deliver product certifications according to agreed targets and specifications (safety objectives, timelines, resources) ◼ Carry out continued airworthiness oversight of certified propulsion products to ensure compliance with EASA safety standards ◼ Ensure investigation and/ coordination of in-service occurrences and defects in the domain of expertise, and decide on, implement and follow-up the corrective actions needed to ensure the continued airworthiness (CAW) of approved types, based on adequate risk assessments Specific accountabilities as Powerplant Expert: ◼ Provide expertise to complex certification projects for the determination of the applicable certification basis, the definition of the level of involvement by selecting compliance demonstration items and the agreement of applicants’ certification programmes ◼ Within the scope defined under level of involvement, verify the compliance demonstrations as shown by applicants for the domain of expertise in cooperation with the project certification managers (PCMs) and/or experts of other disciplines ◼ Follow allocated occurrences and identify potential corrective actions in CAW domain and propose replies to safety recommendations
