JOB Description:
Fusion for Energy (F4E) is the European Union organisation managing Europe’s contribution to ITER— the biggest scientific experiment on the path to fusion energy. This partnership of seven parties (China, Europe, Japan, India, the Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation and the USA), represents half of the world’s population and 80% of the global GDP. Europe is responsible for nearly half of the project, while the other six parties contribute equally to the rest. Our mission is to bring fusion, the energy of the Sun and the stars, to Earth. To do so, we are working closely with industry and research organisations to provide the infrastructure and the components of the biggest fusion device. In parallel, F4E is involved in three major fusion R&D projects, stemming from the Broader Approach Agreement signed between Europe and Japan. Ultimately, F4E will contribute to the development of demonstration fusion reactors by offering technical know-how and expertise. The Project Management Processes & Systems Officer is a member of the Project Management (PM) Department team and reports directly to the Head of PM Department. The F4E PM Department has a suite of tools for the management of projects. These include Oracle Primavera, EcoSys EPC, and Sword Active Risk Manager. Information from these tools is transferred to F4E’s Business Intelligence system (Integrated Reporting System). The successful candidate will hold direct responsibility for: • Lead the development of F4E’s reporting tools and Business Intelligence capabilities; • Lead the administration, maintenance and development of the Project Management Systems; • Design and develop Project Management Key Performance Indicators to measure programme and project performance; • Manage the monthly data upload process to ensure that monthly reports are accurate and available on the required timescale; • Lead the specification, design and development of new Project Management systems; • Supervise the work of External Service Providers providing support to the PM Department; • Interact with the Digital Transformation (DT) Unit on behalf of the PM Department for any related matter.
