JOB Description: 
Reporting to the Fundamental Rights Officer, the mission of the Fundamental Rights Monitor(s) is to constantly assess the fundamental rights compliance of operational activities, provide advice and assistance in that regard, and contribute to the promotion of fundamental rights as part of European integrated border management. As per Article 110 of the European Border and Coast Guard Regulation (EU) No. 2019/1896 (EBCG Regulation), the duties and responsibilities of Fundamental Rights Monitors are to: o Monitor compliance with fundamental rights of the operational activities of the Agency as assigned by the Fundamental Rights Officer; o Conduct visits, including long-term visits where operational activities take place; o Draft and analyse reports of the Fundamental Rights Monitors concerning compliance with fundamental rights of the operational activities of the Agency as assigned by the FRO including recommendations; o Provide advice on Fundamental Rights Monitors’ activities in the field and assist in their planning and preparations, particularly in relation to facilitating their access; o Follow the preparation of operational plans and report to the Fundamental Rights Officer to enable him or her to fulfill his or her tasks; o Provide advice and assistance on fundamental rights in the evaluation of the operational activities of the Agency; o Liaise with FRO, Frontex coordinators and deployed officers in the field, cooperate with relevant units within Frontex HQ; o Contribute to pre-deployment briefings on issues relating to fundamental rights; o Provide advice on fundamental rights training and contribute to training activities; o Cooperate with relevant actors on fundamental rights matters in the operational areas of assignment; o Where assigned by the FRO, carry out tasks in accordance to Art. 109 (2) (a – I and k) of Frontex Regulation 2019/1896; o Where assigned by the FRO, conduct forced return monitoring as per Article 51 Frontex Regulation 2019/1896; o Assist the FRO in his/her tasks related to the scope of their activities upon request.
