JOB Description: 
The purpose of the Information Systems Directorate (Directorate I) is to enable the achievement of the goals and operational objectives of the Agency by ensuring that all Directorates have the IT infrastructure, the information systems and the support services that are appropriate to carry out their function. Our teams serve all ECHA’s directorates and units working hand in hand with our business counterparts on a vast number of horizontal activities. Our ultimate goal is to provide the Agency’s internal staff, the over 3000 member states authorities and committee members and the over 150,000 Industry stakeholders the IT solutions and services which support and ease their daily work. The job as a Business Analyst will entail working closely with business counterparts to understand the evolving needs and translate them into serviced capabilities resulting from the execution of IT projects. Whilst technical skills remain a valuable quality, the abilities in the areas of Business Analysis, Data and Information architecture, Product Management combined with Project or Service management are those considered to be most suitable for this position. The main responsibilities of Business Analyst will include: • In close cooperation with domain experts, accomplish the elicitation of functional and non-functional requirements that can be used as basis for the development of specific IT solutions; • Actively engage in the production of all artefacts that help capturing the data, processes and information flows representing a targeted IT implementation; • In line with the business needs, contribute to the definition and implementation of projects targeting the delivery of IT solutions; • Manage the projects in your area in accordance with established ECHA IT Governance and IT project management practices (e.g. Prince 2, PM2), through contracted resources; • Establish and maintain good collaboration with the relevant product managers and other customer representatives in order to ensure continued developments and increased alignments between IT solutions and business needs; • Establish and leverage a good working relationship with the contractor(s) in order to achieve effective and high-quality delivery of results; • Contribute to the procurement activities for the outsourced services; • Work closely together with all relevant Teams and Units in the Agency to ensure efficient and seamless interdepartmental cooperation at all levels, in order to deliver according to ECHA’s priorities.
